Assignments and assessment
SLLL expects students to submit assignments electronically, along with a cover sheet. Some courses require students to submit hard copies as well; your course convenor will explain how this is to be done, and how hard copies will be returned. Information about Extensions and Late Submissions.
Special assessment consideration: Special consideration is the process by which an examiner takes extenuating circumstances into consideration during the marking of an assessment item. Extenuating circumstances are defined as circumstances that were unpredictable and unavoidable.
Deferred examinations: A deferred examination is the sitting of an examination at a time other than the scheduled time/date. The University may make alternate provisions for undergraduate and graduate coursework students who are unable to attend a formal examination at the prescribed time, owing to extenuating circumstances.
Special exam arrangements: The University will endeavour to accommodate the special needs of students with a permanent or temporary disability, and students from language backgrounds other than English. In instances of students with a disability or special requirements, Access & Inclusion must be notified well in advance of requiring alternative assessment arrangements.
Assessment for students with language backgrounds other than English: Assessment for students with language backgrounds other than English can apply for concessions if they meet the requirements of the ANU Policy
